LAHORE: The drainage of flood water from Kartarpur Gurdwara was completed within hours, leaving the sacred site shining once again.
Acting on the CM’s orders, Suthra Punjab workers and other officials rolled up their sleeves and worked around the clock to clean the shrine’s walls and courtyards.
The Darshan Deori and other sections were scrubbed spotless, and authorities said the gurdwara would be reopened to Sikh pilgrims within three to four days.

— Shiraz Hassan (@ShirazHassan) August 29, 2025Deputy Commissioner Nankana Sahib personally reached Kartarpur Gurdwara to keep a close eye on the cleanup operation. Under his watch, the vast courtyard was drained and washed thoroughly.
It is worth mentioning that after a flash flood, water had risen 10 to 12 feet inside the gurdwara. Rescue teams had to ferry Sikh pilgrims out on motorboats and move them to safety. The gurdwara’s management and visitors were left stunned to see the holy site shining bright again after the mammoth cleanup.
