ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, extending deep sorrow over the damage caused by recent floods in different parts of Pakistan.

He expressed heartfelt condolences to the Pakistani people for the lives lost and properties damaged.

During the call, the Iranian leader offered full support, assuring that Tehran stood ready to provide every possible form of assistance to the flood-affected families. His message underscored solidarity with Pakistan at a time of severe hardship.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly acknowledged President Pezeshkian’s words of sympathy and unity, thanking him for Iran’s willingness to help during this testing period. He noted the importance of such expressions of support from neighbouring and friendly nations.

The prime minister also conveyed his deep respect and good wishes for Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, praising the close ties between the two countries.

Both leaders further shared positive sentiments about their anticipated meeting on the sidelines of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China. The expected engagement is likely to provide an opportunity for further discussions on bilateral and regional cooperation.
