RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan and Turkiye on Friday celebrated the Turkish Armed Forces’ Victory Day with a formal ceremony in Islamabad, attended by top civil, military and diplomatic representatives.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), graced the occasion as Chief Guest, underscoring the significance of the event for both nations.
The gathering brought together senior government officials, military officers, members of the diplomatic community, media representatives, business leaders and civil society, symbolising the broad support for the fraternal bond between Pakistan and Turkiye. The ceremony highlighted the depth of people-to-people, institutional and strategic ties shared by the two countries.

He praised the historic strength of the bilateral relationship, describing it as enduring and time-tested, and emphasised the mutual trust and common values that continue to guide cooperation.
The CJCSC reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination, along with Turkiye, to further expand cooperation across all domains. He underlined the partnership’s importance in defence, political and economic spheres, noting the shared resolve to broaden engagement in the years ahead. The speech reflected the countries’ long-standing alignment in regional and global matters of mutual concern.
Earlier on his arrival, General Mirza was warmly received by Berk Ece, Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Turkiye in Pakistan. The official welcome highlighted the spirit of camaraderie that has long defined relations between the two nations.
