ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The second phase of applications under Pakistan’s Government Hajj Scheme has officially begun, now accepting applications from unregistered pilgrims due to lower-than-expected application numbers during the initial round.
So far, 60.3% of the total Hajj quota has been filled, leaving 39.7% still available. Out of the total quota of 118,210 seats, 71,286 registered pilgrims have submitted applications through banks in the past six days, with 46,924 seats remaining vacant.
To fill the remaining slots, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has opened the scheme to previously unregistered applicants. The application window will remain open until August 16, provided the quota is not filled earlier.
Applicants must submit the first installment along with their application. According to details, Rs500,000 for the long Hajj package and Rs 550,000 for the short Hajj package.
Overseas Pakistanis can also apply through their relatives in Pakistan.
However, upon returning to the country, they must submit a medical fitness certificate to complete the process.
The government will stop receiving applications as soon as the quota is fulfilled.
