Fine proposed for Karachiites not wearing masks in public places

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Administrator Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani said on Wednesday that a fine of Rs 1000 has been proposed for those citizens who do not wear masks in public places.

Speaking at the inauguration of physiotherapy centers of Isa Laboratories in Karachi, Iftikhar Shalwani said that local, provincial and federal governments are on one page to solve the problems of Karachi. Water scarcity, solid waste management and public transport are the three major problems facing the city.

He said that it has been proposed to the Sindh government that those who do not wear masks in public places should be fined Rs 1000.

The Administrator said that hundreds of people approach me, out of which 70% want to secure a government job. I tell the young people looking for government jobs to start their own business if they fail, Karachi is an economic hub and one can earn a living even by picking stones, he said.
