Several areas of Islamabad to face micro-lockdown after increase in Covid-19 cases

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - After 88 new coronavirus cases were reported in one day in the federal capital, it was decided to impose micro lockdown in several areas. The district administration said the areas will be put under lockdown from Sunday morning.

According to the details, a new wave of coronavirus has emerged in the twin cities, 88 new covid-19 cases were reported in one day in the federal capital. It was decided to impose micro-lockdown in several sectors.

A letter issued by the District Health Officer Islamabad said that after new Coronavirus cases were reported, Sector G 4/10 Street No. 38, 44, 45, 46, 47 and 48 should be sealed. Streets No. 25, 29 of Sector I - 2/8 and Streets No. 85 and 89 of Sector G 4/10 should also be sealed.

Samples for coronavirus test are also being obtained from the affected areas. Timely lockdown can reduce the spread of coronavirus cases.

Following a letter from the health department, the district administration said that a micro-lockdown would be imposed in these areas from Sunday morning. Citizens should arrange adequate food and other necessities.

On the other hand, two marriage halls in Rawalpindi have been sealed and fined Rs95,000 for violating SOPs. The district administration has also issued stern warnings at several places.
