KP Govt imposes smart lockdown in four areas of Peshawar
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Smart lockdowns have been imposed in four areas of the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Peshawar due to the surge in coronavirus cases.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar Muhammad Ali Asghar has issued a notification in this regard stating that Smart Lockdown has been implemented in Ashrafia Colony, Chinar Road, University Town, Danishabad and Sector E-Two Phase One Hayatabad.
Smart lockdown has been imposed in these areas due to the rapid increase of Coronavirus cases. Entry and exit points of these areas will be closed during Smart Lockdown.
According to the notification, only essential food items, medicine, general stores, tandoors and emergency service shops will remain open in these areas.
Only five people will be allowed to offer congregational prayers in mosques in these areas. Instructions have been issued to the area magistrate and police regarding implementation of smart lockdown and violators will be prosecuted.
