IK cannot withdraw his statement once it has been submitted in the court, says legal team of ex CJ.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Legal team of former Chief Justice of Supreme Court Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry told Dunya News that preparations have been made to file case against Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.

Lawyers of ex-CJ say affidavit of Imran Khan’s response and copy of the case decision have also been obtained.

Legal team has maintained the stance that Imran Khan cannot withdraw his letter of apology once it has been submitted and there is no provision in the constitution that allows the withdrawal of a response once it has been submitted in the court.

Imran Khan had been served a defamation notice of Rs 20 billion by Justice (retd.) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. In response to the notice Imran Khan had taken a rather apologetic stance and had acknowledged the services of the former Chief Justice.
