Security forces get control of Kaniguram, 12 militants killed

Security forces got complete control of militants stronghold Kaniguram in the ongoing operation Rah-e-Nijaat and at least 12 militants have been killed by the forces during the last 24 hours. During a joint press briefing with Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, DG ISPR Athar Abbas said that networks of militants have been mired and security forces are advancing gradually. Athar Abbas said that the nation fully backed the security forces in operation Rah-e-Nijaat against the militants in South Waziristan. He said that landmines have been disposed off. He said that Indian arms and literature have been recovered by the forces and Foreign Office has been informed in this regard. DG ISPR said that security forces have encircled Sararoga from three sides and security forces have recovered five trucks full of arms.On the other hand, Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said that at least 30,036 displaced families of South Waziristan have been registered; while 25 million rupees have been distributed among the IDPs. He said that militants would finally be defeated. He said that militants would not be succeeded in their evil designs.
