LAHORE (Dunya News) - Court has allowed Usman Dar to perform Umrah by accepting the plea seeking name removal from the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).

Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard the plea filed to remove Dar’s name from the PNIL.

During the hearing, Dar's counsel stated that his client wanted to perform Umrah along with his family but he was unable to do so as the Federal Investigation Agency had included his name in the PNIL, barring him from travelling abroad.

The counsel added that Dar had requested police and the FIA for his name to be removed from the PNIL but the said departments hadn’t taken any action on the application.

Usman Dar’s counsel requested the court to order the removal of his name from the list and direct the FIA to abstain from hindering his travel to Saudi Arabia.

The court accepted Usman Dar’s plea and directed the authorities to remove his name from the no-fly list to enable him to perform Umrah.

Meanwhile, the LHC also accepted Usman Dar’s seven-day protective bail in the GHQ attack case.
