ECP disqualifies PTI candidate over use of COAS, CJP's posters

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – The Election Commission has disqualified a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate from contesting elections after he was found guilty of violating poll code.

“PTI candidate from Gujranwala (PP-53) constituency, Nasir Cheema is no longer eligible to contest elections,” the electoral commission said in a statement.

ECP said Cheema violated the code of conduct by carrying photos of the army chief and the chief justice during his election campaign.

“(He) has been disqualified from contesting elections.”
