Eid package from Pakistan Railways to offer concessions
Five special trains will transport travelers throughout Eid with 33pc discounts on train tickets
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Railways has announced Eid package for travelers during the festivity in which passengers can avail special trains as well discounts on train tickets.
According to the spokesperson, the railroads body will give 33pc discount on tickets throughout Eid-ul-Fitr. Also, five special trains will run for passengers going to their homes for the festival.
The approval of Pakistan Railways’ special Eid package was given by Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique in a meeting at the Lahore headquarters. 33pc discount on train tickets will be given throughout the three days of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Saad Rafique has directed the authorities to attach additional coaches on regular trains as well to accommodate more passengers, apart from the five trains in Eid package.
These special trains will move from Karachi to Peshawar on June 23 and then stop in Multan, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Malakwal, Lalamusa and Rawalpindi. It will then return to Peshawar.
The second train will move to Quetta from Rohri and Khanewal. It will then go from Lahore to Rawalpindi. The third train will go from Karachi to Lahore and stop at Multan, Faisalabad and other cities.
Two trains will be restricted to Multan-Rawalpindi routes. These operations will continue from June 23 to June 28.
