Several localities of Lahore witnessed severe power outages on Sunday.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Citizens suffered from severe load-shedding in Lahore on Sunday as several localities of the city remained without electricity for many hours, Dunya News reported.

According to detail, Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) received electric supply of 2,550MW against the demand of 3,400MW. These stats show a shortfall of 850MW.

Reportedly, urban areas witnessed around six-hour long power outages while rural areas around eight to ten-hour long power cuts. Some areas of Lahore remained without electricity for many hours due to technical fault.

The LESCO sources said that with the increase in the use of air-conditions and fans, the demand of electricity also increased. Sources further said that there is no chance of reduction in the load-shedding in the near future.
