PPP takes out 'Salam Shuhda' rally in Karachi
The rally will be led by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is holding a ‘Salam Shuhda’ rally today (Sunday) in Karachi in the memory of Karsaz incident martyrs.
The rally is being led by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Two Former Prime Ministers (PM) Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf also accompany the PPP chairman.
Strict security arrangements have been made in this regard. Shahra-e-Faisal has been closed for traffic on the point of Karsaz whereas containers have been positioned at numerous locations.
Hurdles have also been placed on the road leading to Karsaz from Baloch Colony.
Traffic authorities have asked the citizens to follow the alternate routes.
A vigil was held yesterday in the remembrance of the martyrs of Karsaz incident.
PPP chairman and other leaders visited the camps at Yadgar-i-Shuhada monument.
Talking to party workers, Bilawal said that PPP will take out a historical rally.
Leader of the Opposition in NA Syed Khursheed Shah reiterated that PPP’s activists are filled with enthusiasm and passion no matter in which corner of the country they are present.
Maula Baksh Chandio said that those who thought that PPP has ended will have a strong message from this rally.
Around 180 persons, most of whom were activists of PPP were killed in twin bomb blasts on October 18, 2007 while 500 wounded as flocks of people welcomed first ever woman prime minister of Pakistan, late Benazir Bhutto upon her return to the country after years.
Around two months after the blasts she was assassinated and a legal case is ongoing.
