Scrutinise charity organisations before giving your donations: Pervaiz appeals public
Don't give charity to organisations from whom suicide jackets would be retrieved later, Rashid said
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday appealed the public to scrutinise charity organisations prior to giving donations, reported Dunya News.
While addressing the participants of an Iftar party that was organised by a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Lahore’s Shadman area, Rashid said that a number of charity organisations become active in order to collect donations during the holy month of Ramazan but none of these organisations should be given charity without scrutinising them.
Federal Minister for Information stated that certain charity organisations used the money given to them for wrong purposes as they attempted to promote extremism and sectarianism in the country.
Rashid appealed the public not to give its charity to such organisations "from whom suicide jackets would be retrieved" later on.
