Pervaiz Rashid arrived at the opposition leader's chamber to hold discussion on ECP appointments.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid today (Friday) again touched Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Shah‘s knee and told media that he demonstrates this gesture because he respects Shah.

The minister said that his personality is in front of everyone.

“I am not a coward,” he added.

Later, the minister entered the opposition leader’s chamber to discuss the appointment of the members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Pervaiz Rashid said that the government and opposition will finalise names of the ECP members within next two days.

Earlier on Monday, Pakistan People Party (PPP) Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took a dig at the ruling PML-N after a video of Pervaiz Rashid bowing before Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah emerged on TV screens.

Bilawal posted a message on Twitter: “When they are in trouble, they touch your feet and once out of trouble, they hold your neck.”

In an interview earlier, Pervaiz Rashid stated that the Prime Minister‘s name has not been mentioned in Panama Papers and the allegations and claims of the opposition in this respect carry no weight.

He said all the questions raised by the opposition off and on were addressed in the ToRs framed by the government. Let the Commission be constituted and everybody including the sons of the Prime Minister clear their position before the Commission.

Answering a question, the minister said the Prime Minister is expected to return before Eid-ul-Fitr.
