Man was charged under PPC for "contravening Pakistan's sovereignty"
OKARA (Web Desk) – Indian cricketer Virat Kohli’s Pakistani fan named Umar Draz was sent to jail on judicial remand on Thursday for hoisting Indian flag on his rooftop, reported Dunya News.
According to the details, Draz has been arrested for hoisting the flag of India on his rooftop, which the accused says was a tribute to his favourite Indian cricketer Virat Kohli who has a bit of facial resemblance to him as well, officials said.
Umar Draz was charged under the Pakistan Penal Code, which is reserved for crimes considered contravening Pakistan’s sovereignty and carrying a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
Police confirmed that they could not find anything fishy about Umar Draz during the initial investigation. The family of the boy told the media that they are true Pakistanis and cannot even imagine to go against its sovereignty.
