Info Minister says KP govt's claim of planting 100 million trees is fake, demands location of trees
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has on Thursday said that the claim by Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) government of planting 100 million trees is fake and alleged that the resources of the province are being plundered in the name of planting trees. He demanded the location of the trees from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, reported Dunya News.
In a statement issued from Islamabad, Pervaiz Rashid said that the recent claim by Imran Khan of having planted 100 million trees in KP is yet another addition to his stock of false claims. He asked the location where this ‘miraculous process’ took place and time when it happened. “Imran Khan must tell us where these trees came from and where have they been planted”, said Rashid.
Rashid said that the details of the labourers who planted these 100 million trees have also been kept secret. “The plantation was so secretive that even the residents of the areas where these trees were planted don’t know of any such activity”, said Rashid.
