KP govt granted funds worth more than 45 crore to JI ahead of May LB polls: report
The move of issuing funds was taken just before the local body polls.
KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government in a bid of showing extra courtesy to the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) MPs issued funds worth more than 45 crore to three of their constituencies, reveals a report.
According to details, the move was taken just before the local body polls.
According to the report, in only three constituencies of upper and lower Dir Rs45 crore 93 lac were issued in April and May with the LB polls due to begin in May.
Not only the funds were granted but development work was also started on immediate basis.
The report discloses that development work of more than 15 crore was carried out in the constituency of senior minister Inayatullah Khan whereas PK-93 constituency of former MPA Malik Behram and PK-92 also underwent development work of over 12 crore and one crore.
On the contrary, Qaumi Watan Party’s (QWP) MPA Bakht Baidar Khan was ignored completely in the process as no development work was done in his area during the two months.
Reacting to the situation, Bakht Baidar Khan has decided to raise the issue in provincial assembly.
