Dr Asim Hussain shifted to hospital due to heart problem
Dr Asim Hussain suffered a minor heart attack.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – Former petroleum minister and Asif Ali Zardari’s close aide, Dr Asim Hussain, who is in Rangers custody on 90-day remand, has been shifted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Karachi on Tuesday.
According to hospital sources, Dr Asim underwent several tests. He has suffered a minor heart attack.
Doctors have reported that the former minister is also suffering from diabetes and kidney problem, thus, there is some difficulty in conducting his angiography.
A medical board will be formed for his complete check-up after three days, sources told.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah also visited Dr Asim Hussain at the hospital today.
On August 27, Dr Asim was placed under a 90-day preventive detention under Section 11-EEEE of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
He was arrested by Rangers for alleged involvement in corruption cases and assisting the terrorists.
