Election rigging will be exposed this month, Imran Khan predicts

Dunya News

Purpose of democracy is freedom, not slavery, he said

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Thursday predicted that the alleged rigging in election 2013 will conclusively be proven this month, adding that the purpose of democracy is freedom and that he will lead the battle against those who have “occupied the country economically”, Dunya News reported.

Speaking on the Kashmir Solidarity Day event in Islamabad, Khan said that Pakistan was unfortunate to get “fake dictators”, adding that there is a huge difference between the human beings brought under democratic rule and that of slavery.

He said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif are now together as if they were long lost brothers despite trashing each other during the election campaign.

PTI chairman said that those sitting in Islamabad have no idea about what’s going on in Waziristan, adding that the country is being occupied by a few elites. He blamed Punjab and Sindh governments for delay in local body elections even in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Azad Kashmir’s former Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Mehmood announced to join PTI on this occasion. Participants trying to reach near Imran Khan also caused ruckus during the event.
