PM, COAS discuss national security policy

The federal government plans to devise the first ever national security policy of the country.

 

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan met on Wednesday to discuss the new security policy.

 

A meeting has been called on Thursday that will focus on the new security policy.

 

According to the sources, the meeting would discuss cooperation with provincial governments while maintaining law and order, ensuring good governance and new policies and priorities of the government pertaining to law and order.

 

The chiefs of security and intelligence agencies will attend the meeting and present their recommendations on the national security policy.

 

After being finalized in the meeting, federal cabinet will approve the security policy.
