The launch was to be held in Mumbai on January 29 initially. Ali’s concert in Mumbai and Pune were also cancelled in 2015 due to extremist group, Shiv Sena’s threats.

On October 7, 2015 extremist Hindu party Sena had threatened to storm Ali’s concert in Mumbai.

Shiv Sena had stated that Indians don not want to build any kind of cultural bond with Pakistan. The party had further warned of severe consequences.

The concert scheduled on October 9 at Shanmukhanand Hall in Mumbai was cancelled.

Earlier, Shiv Sena had also protested against Atif Aslam’s in Indian playback music.

Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi apparently admires Ghulam Ali and had met him in April 2015.
