Congress party expressed strong protest against these remarks and demanded Amit Shah to apologise

NEW DELHI (Dunya News) – Political opponents as well as people all over India have strongly denounced BJP leader’s ‘chatur baniya’ about the founder of India, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

Opposition party Indian National Congress went on to demand a formal apology from Amit Shah, the man who declared Gandhi chatur baniya. The comments were perceived insulting by large groups of audience, including several political parties and other segments of the Indian society.



Amit Shah also accused Gandhi of wanting to disperse Congress after 1947 independence. He said Gandhi was unable to do so, however, some people are now fulfilling this uncompleted task, adding that Congress lacked ideology.

On the other hand, Twitter users in favour of the BJP leader defended the statement with Ghandi s autobiography in which the freedom leader called himself baniya.
