Study reveals Muslim population in America
Muslims living in America have shown concerns over Donald Trump as the President-elect
WASHINGTON (Web Desk) – The population of America is over 320 million people, according to a German news agency. However, the number of Muslims living in America is not more than 3.3 million which only constitutes one percent of the whole population.
The American Muslim population is expected to become twice in the year 2050. While in 2040, Islam will become the second largest adopted religion in the country. In this way, the Muslim number will surpass that of Jews within upcoming fifteen years.
Moreover, about 5.7 million Jews and 2.1 million Hindus live in America, according to the American fact tank Pew Research Center. Another report suggests that the people following Islam are amongst the second most literate people in United States while the Jews standout in this list. A study by Pew Research Center concluded that Islam is the fastest spreading religion as compared to other religions including Christianity, Judaism and Hinduism.
The report argues that some American states have more Muslims than the others. New Jersey exceeds other states by having a larger Muslim population. The Pew Research Center’s study reveals that a large number of refugees entered America after 2007 which increased the Muslim population. Furthermore, there are many American citizens who converted to Islam.
An interesting fact in the study states that 1 out of every 5 adult Muslims was raised in another religion.
