SHARJAH (Daily Dunya) - The world’s largest gold ring is currently on display in Sahara Centre of Sharjah city and will adorn the eyes of people for a whole month.

The ring goes by the name of Najmat Taiba (Star of Taiba) and weighs almost 64kg. It has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records and endorsed by the World Gold Council.

The 21-carat ring is studded with 5.1kg of precious stones, diamonds and 615 Swarovski crystals.

The ring was crafted way back in 2000 by at least 55 jewel smiths who worked for 450 hours in 45 days. It cost the owner $547,000 at that time but with the increasing prices of gold, the ring’s value has now gone up to $3 million.

The ring is owned by Dubai-based company Taiba.
