70 injured in Italy's annual 'Battle of the Oranges'
Atleast 16000 people gathered to the area to witness the three day carnival festivities.
(Web Desk) – Nearly 7000 people took part in Italy’s traditional ‘Battle of the Oranges’ on Monday.

The fight that happened in Italian town of Ivrea injured atleast 70 people.

Dressed-up in medieval costumes, some of the participants apparently got a little carried away while pelting each other with the oranges that had been specially delivered for the occasion from Sicily.

Over 2,70,000 kg oranges as suitable weapons were bought in for the fruit battle.
