Russia and Belgium reach into the semifinals of Fed Cup by defeating France and the US.

Despite losing their first two single ties in their quarter final clash with France, the Russian team made a remarkable comeback as the pair of Kuznetsova and Anastasia won their doubles match. They also emerged victorious in their reverse single match.In another quarter Belgium defeated the US by 3-0. After the match a tribute was paid to the legendry Belgian tennis star Justine Henin.
