LONDON (AFP) - Canada s Eugenie Bouchard battled back in style to beat Britain s 16th seed Johanna Konta in the second round at Wimbledon on Thursday.
Bouchard, the 2014 Wimbledon runner-up, won the first set 6-3 then lost the second 6-1 before roaring back to win the final set 6-1 on Centre Court against the British number one.
"I was frustrated after that second set," the world number 48 said.
"She was just dominating, so I told myself that I had to be one doing that, and I did that in the third.
There s no feeling like walking out on Centre Court at Wimbledon and I felt like I played some good tennis out there.
"I ve definitely learned a lot in my short career so far," the 22-year-old said.
"I m just happy that I feel better on the court, I feel strong mentally and physically."
Bouchard will play Slovak 19th seed Dominika Cibulkova in the third round.
Cibulkova beat Daria Gavrilova of Australia 6-3, 6-2 in their second round match.
Bouchard said of her next opponent: "Every match is a battle so I m going to look forward to another one. Just lay it all out there."
