American Consulate says no US citizen killed or injured in the Peshawar blast.

According to eye-witnesses, vehicle of the US personnel was attacked when it reached Abdara Chowk at 8am on Friday, killing a man who was passing by the vehicle on a motorcycle at the time of blast. At least 10 people, including two foreigners,were injured in the blast, they said. One of the injured died on the way to hospital.“The bomb was planted on the roadside,” the eye-witnesses said, adding that it was a remote control blast.According to a statement from the American Consulate, no US citizen was killed or injured in the Peshawar blast. The statement confirmed that the US vehicle had been targeted in the bomb blast.The police and the security forces cordoned off the area and transferred the injured to Khyber Hospital.There are several schools and colleges situated around the site of the blast. There was no big traffic at the time of incident otherwise casualties could have been more, eye-witnesses said.According to another report,the law enforcement agencies have detained a suspect from the site of the blast. Atleast 50 kilogramme of explosive material was used in the blast, the report said. The defunct Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan acceptedthe responsibility of theattack.
