CJP Saqib Nisar pays visit to Lahore's Mayo Hospital

CJP scolded chief secretary for combine wards of males and females and directed to separate them.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar along with Chief Secretary Zahid Saeed on Tuesday paid a visit to Mayo Hospital in Lahore after hearing clean water case at Supreme Court (SC) registry.

According to details, CJP visited emergency, medical and surgical wards and met patients while he also scolded chief secretary for combine wards of males and females and ordered to separate them.



Health Secretary Najam Shah was also present on the occasion.

The justice inspected surgical tower that is under adjournment for 10 years. He asked the patients to fearlessly tell their problems and condition of clean water in the hospital.



Saqib Nisar said that provision of health and clean water facilities should be first priority of the government and that no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.

Earlier, while hearing the case pertaining to clean water in Punjab, CJP asked the provincial government what steps it has taken for boosting health and education sectors. He remarked, “Do you know how much Arsenic is being used in drinking water.”

He also directed to inform the court about quality of drinking water in hospitals, colleges and schools as private institutions are taking hefty fee.

CJP further assured to appreciate every step taken for the welfare of the locals. He asked the chief secretary to stay with him for a whole week to monitor the status of facilities being provided to the people.
