COAS meets US National Security Advisor to discuss defence cooperation
PAK-US relations, defence cooperation and regional security matters came under discussion
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – United States National Security Advisor H. R McMaster met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday at General Headquarters (GHQ).
The issues under discussion were PAK-US relations, defence cooperation and regional security matters.
US NSA visits Pakistan, appreciates economic progress
It was the first visit by a top member of President Donald Trump s administration. UN National Security Advisor visited Afghanistan before landing in Islamabad.
Moreover, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s office said, "McMaster assured the Prime Minister that the new administration was committed to strengthening bilateral relations and working with Pakistan, to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan and in the wider South Asian region."
The US embassy said, "General McMaster expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s democratic and economic development, and stressed the need to confront terrorism in all its forms."
