Those who made money during PPP govt should now provide money for buses, say workers

LAHORE: (Daily Dunya) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers on Monday blasted the leadership at provincial level, saying that those who made huge amounts of money during the PPP era should now also provide funds for hiring buses for the Lahore to Faisalabad rally scheduled for January 19.

According to sources, the workers blasted the leadership during the meeting presided over by PPP Central Punjab president Qamar Zaman Kaira.

The central information secretary of the party Chaudhry Manzoor said on the occasion that the Lahore workers were spreading despair. He said that if the Lahore workers don’t want to join the party, they should say it openly so that party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari be taken to Faisalabad from Sheikhupura, bypassing Lahore. “If the Lahore workers don’t want to welcome, they are welcome to say goodbye”, he said.

The workers were furious over these remarks by Chaudhry Manzoor. They said that Lahore sacrificed the most in every tough time. They said that Lahore made those leaders who had come to Lahore from small villages.

Suhail Malik, Arif Khan, Zahid Zulfiqar, Sheikh Zafar, Aslam Garra and others said that it were Lahore people who had been flogged and sent to jails but now the same Lahore workers were being told to say goodbye.

Arif Khan said that Bilawal had told the workers to come on roads and they will face every challenge with bravery and if they get imprisoned in the process, they’d also take the leaders to jails along with them.

Suhail Malik said that it was for the first time that no train was booked from Lahore for Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary. They said that Punjab PPP must be held accountable.

Former Lahore PPP president Samina Khalid Ghurki, who had already completed her speech, stood up again after Chaudhry Manzoor’s speech and said that Lahore had always done its duty for the party so the talk of bypassing Lahore was unfavourable.
