Can't trust PTI, won't allow Islamabad's 'invasion': Pervaiz Rashid
Info Minister sticks to his guns, says Imran Khan wants to affect Pakistans progress
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has on Thursday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) could not be trusted and thus couldn’t be allowed to ‘invade’ Islamabad. He said that PTI chief Imran Khan wanted to affect the national progress, reported Dunya News.
In a statement, Rashid said that Imran Khan couldn’t be allowed to set up his show on the agenda that he was on. “We can’t allow fascist approach”, he said. He stressed that workers must not be used as a fuel for power. “Those bent on dying and killing people should first tell us what they want”, he said. He added that the government showed utmost seriousness in Panama Leaks investigation. He added that inciting the workers to violence was illegal and undemocratic.
Talking to Kamran Khan on Dunya News later, the senator said that the ‘illegal’ gathering was basically aimed at disrupting the lives of the citizens of Islamabad. “It is our duty to protect millions of people. Imran Khan holds public meetings almost every other day but the government never stopped him. But he has resorted to taking law into his hands now”, he said.
Pervaiz Rashid said that Imran Khan had violated his commitment during the sit-in days, and couldn’t be trusted now. He added that Imran wanted to conduct a warm-up exercise today. “There is complete ban on public gatherings. The government just did its duty. It will continue to do its duty. There are democratic options available, invasion cannot be allowed”, he said.
