Khan advised Pakistan People's Party today to announce detachment with Asif Ali Zardari

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, a political party that has been staunchly against the government firstly over alleged rigged mandate and then over corruption among other accusations, recommended senior members of Pakistan People’s Party to detach with Asif Ali Zardari in a press conference on Thursday.

Sources privy to the party reported the inside story of the meeting of top members of PTI held earlier today that reveals why Imran Khan took a jibe at PPP leadership in the press conference that followed.

Reportedly, Khan was annoyed over Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s criticism on him earlier this week.

Bilawal had said that Imransolo flight created issues for other political parties. The statement had come in after PPP joined hands with the government over Kashmir dispute against PTIs refusal to be a part of the joint session of the parliament called in this regard.

Sources reported that Khan had decided during the meeting in the evening today that he would target Asif Ali Zardari, former president and PPP in his press conference.

Going by his plan, Khan advised Pakistan People’s Party to announce detachment with Asif Ali Zardari "before it was too late."

He also said that Bilawal shook hands with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after dubbing him under “traitor” earlier.

The revelation explains why Imran Khan reiterated during the press conference that he did not want to become the premier of the country but put the nation on the way to prosperity.

PPP responds

Saeed Ghani, a senior member of Pakistan People’s Party, in response to Imran’s harsh statement said that he suffered of “malice and prejudice” as one suffered of diseases and that leaders of PTI should get rid of him.

He said that October 30 was to fall on Sunday which is why he suspected that Imran Khan wished to hold the citizens “hostage” and not pressure the government by yet another sit-in.

Defending PPP, Ghani said that Zardari only wished to save the democracy.

He recommended senior board members of PTI to have Khan replaced by a sensible man. Ghani also alleged former skipper Imran Khan of tempering with ball during his cricket career.

The PPP member demanded Khan to not try to pull such malicious moves in politics.

Qamar Zaman Kaira, former minister for information also chastised Khan by saying that his decision to not participate in joint session of the parliament was wrong and he should not cuss others out of frustration.

Kaira also highlighted how close PTI has come in ties with Sheikh Rasheed, chief of Awami Muslim League, the man Khan once used to criticise.
