Public, govt, armed forces, police, all united against terrorism, says PM
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif addressed the National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday and stated that he was saddened over the martyrdom of the innocent ones in Quetta, reported Dunya News.
PM Nawaz said that the Quetta blast has saddened the entire nation further adding that terrorism shall be countered with greater force now. He added that it was the responsibility of the government to make the country safe for people catering to all school of thoughts.
PM Nawaz stated that mislead elements had become enemies of the state, further adding that these very elements were responsible for the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Prime Minister Nawaz said that implementation upon the National Action Plan (NAP) shall be made at all costs.
He further stated that the terrorists cannot shake the resolve of the nation, adding that the government shall not be at peace until the terrorists meet their fate. "Anti-Pakistan elements did not like peace being established in Balochistan," PM said, futher adding that the nation shall have to remain united while battling terrorism.
"The people of Pakistan, the government, the armed forces and police, all are united in the battle against terrorism," said the Prime Minister.
While addressing in the National Assembly, Leader of the Opposition Syed Khurshid Shah stated that if the Opposition speaks for the state, it benefits the government, further stating that negative politics were not practice after such a huge tragedy. Shah suggested that an action committee should be formed as the battle against terrorism could not be fought alone because it was a national war.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that people belonging to all school of thoughts condemned the Quetta attack, further adding that the nation also united after the attack on the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar.
He added that consensus was developed over the National Action Plan (NAP), further stating that 60 thousand lives have been lost in the battle against terrorism. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the world was yet not willing to accept Pakistan’s stance despite so many sacrifices.
