ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – All Parties Hurriyat Conference organized a rally in Islamabad to protest against Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s arrival in Islamabad to attend South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.

The rally started from Faizabad area in Rawalpindi. The protestors blocked the highway that led to Islamabad from Benazir Bhutto International Airport. The protestors demanded that diplomatic ties with India be cut-off until a solution for the Kashmir issue gets traced.

Mishal Malik, wife of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, also organised a symbolic hunger strike. She stated that Indian home minister was invited to Pakistan despite the immense atrocities being carried out in Kashmir by the Indian forces. She said that no SAARC Conference could achieve its purpose until the Kashmir issue gets resolved.

Mishal Malik said that Pakistan needs to unveil the brutal face of India before the world.

The Indian minister is travelling to Pakistan at a time when a surge of violence in disputed Kashmir has escalated rivalry between the two countries.

More than 60 people have been killed and up to 6,000 wounded since protests erupted in Indian-occupied Kashmir after security forces killed prominent freedom fighter Burhan Wani last month.

Wani, 22, was a commander of Hizbul Mujahideen. He has been declared a martyr by officials in Islamabad while India has branded him a "terrorist".

Interior Minister Rajnath Singh is not expected to have a separate meeting with the Pakistani host of the meeting of interior ministers from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

Earlier on Tuesday in occupied Kashmir, Indian troops martyred three Kashmiri protestors and injured several others Kupwara district and Srinagar.

The troops fired on a group of peaceful protesters who were protesting against the Indian forces.
