Pakistan, China sign seven agreements, 17 MoUs

Shehbaz Sharif urged the entrepreneurs in Pakistan to strengthen cooperation with Chinese firms.

(Web Desk) – Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif on his two-day visit to China inked seven agreements and 17 memorandums of understanding (MoU) with Chinese enterprises in Beijing.

According to Chinese State Media, the agreements are related to energy, textiles, water treatment, steel, establishment of industrial estates, training of master trainers in different skills and the promotion of trade fairs and exhibitions.

On the occasion, CM Shehbaz Sharif urged the entrepreneurs and industrialists in Pakistan to strengthen cooperation with Chinese firms.

Lauding the implementation of Chin-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the minister said that the construction of first phase would be completed soon whereas, CPEC would further improve the ties with China.

He said that Punjab has developed a lot in the government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Shahbaz Sharif said that 66 Pakistani students are learning a two-year Chinese course at Peking University now while Chinese companies are also helping local engineers and technicians to furnish their skills.

Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Song Tao, and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui met Shahbaz Sharif in Beijing at separate meetings before the chief minster headed for east China s Shandong Province.
