CCTV footage shows SHC CJ's son kidnapped after full recce
The kidnappers started chasing Awais Sajjad Shah from Sindh High Court (SHC).
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Chief Justice Sindh High Court Sajjad Ali Shah’s son Awais Sajjad Shah was abducted after full recce as the kidnappers started following him from Sindh High Court (SHC), reported on Wednesday.
Dunya News has obtained CCTV footage of Awais Sajjad before his abduction in which it can be clearly seen that the suspects in a white car with SP 0586 number started chasing him from SHC till the shopping mall in Clifton.
The victim left the court at 2:08pm and reached Fawara Chowk. The kidnappers were also behind when he was at Shah Avari Tower while the culprits can also be seen in the CCTV footage at Metropolitan Hotel’s signal.
Awais Sajjad came out of the mall at 2:22pm after which he was captured by the suspects.
Talking to media, Inspector General Sindh said that no call or message has been received from the suspects so far while the law enforcement agencies are also trying hard to recover the victim.
He said that the incident happened at 2:30pm almost but the family informed police at 9pm.
On the other hand, the security officers have not filed any case despite passage of forty-two hours.
According to investigation officers, several suspected people have been taken into custody during various raids in the metropolis while two to three days are required to complete geo-fencing process.
On June 20, CJ SHC’s son Awais Sajjad went missing from Clifton shopping mall while his mobile phone had been switched off since the afternoon.
Following the incident, officers of Special Security Unit along with police started snap checking in the metropolis and at all its entry and exit points while security was also tightened up at Super Highway and National Highway.
An eight-member investigation committee of police was also formed to probe into the matter.
The security personnel had recovered the mobile data of SHC CJ’s son for further process.
Two eye witnesses had also recorded their statements in this regard according to which, four masked armed men got down from a white color car and allegedly took Awais with them.
