Imran Khan spoke to media after arriving in Islamabad from UK.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Speaking to reporters outside his residence after arriving in Islamabad from Manchester, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that he will present his case in the National Assembly today (Monday) and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should do the same if his is ‘clean and honest.’

“Today is a great opportunity. I will present my case and documentation and Nawaz Sharif should present his in the National Assembly,” he said.

He said the Prime Minister cannot get away with painting sorry stories about Sharif family.

“You can’t get away with stealing public money and blackmail people who speak up,” Khan remarked.

He said: “This is democracy. In the age of social media neither Imran Khan nor Nawaz Sharif can back away from questioning.”

Imran further stressed that Sharif should comply with the terms of reference (ToRs) made by the opposition which Chief Justice of Pakistan will agree to.

“I am ready to face the same ToRs opposition has made. Why does Nawaz Sharif fear if he is clean and honest,” he added.

Khan said he is worried that he will not be given a chance to speak in the NA.

He asserted: “I will decide whether to speak in a press conference before or speak directly in the National Assembly."

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to give a policy statement on the issue of Panama leaks in the National Assembly today.

The Prime Minister may announce some necessary steps to ensure transparent probe into the leaks that also include the names of leaders mainly from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, the Radio Pakistan reported.

The Prime Minister has addressed the nation twice on the issue in which he not only gave a complete background of his family business but also openly offered himself and his family for the accountability process.

The Upper House will resume its session at 4:00pm while the Lower House will meet at 5:00 p.m. Both the Houses will also discuss important national issues besides carrying out legislative business.

Meanwhile, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has hoped that today’s session will go ahead in a smooth manner.

He said the opposition parties have assured they will not create any disturbance. However, he said if anybody tried to disturb the proceedings of the House, he will act according to the law.
