Courtiers of govt blackmailing other political leaders instead of answering to allegations: Imran

LONDON (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan Friday has stated that the party will not accept anything except for a commission headed by Chief Justice to probe into the Panama Leaks issue.

Addressing a fund raising ceremony in London, Khan stated that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and his family have to declare their assets.

He inquired as to why Nawaz Sharif formed an offshore company while serving as the PM of the country. He questioned that if PM Nawaz has not evaded taxes then why were the assets not on his name. Further commenting on the issue, Khan added that the PM’s children were 18-19 at the time then how did they acquire the finances.

Khan further stated that PM Nawaz had not provided a clarification of the allegations himself even once, adding that meanwhile the courtiers of the government were busy in blackmailing and hurling counter-accusations against other political leaders including leader of the Oppostion and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Khursheed Shah.

After the ceremony, Khan, during a talk with the media, stated that he had only discussed the upcoming PTI rally with Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar in a meeting during his flight.

Khan further stated that the meeting with opposition leaders was a one-point agenda, adding that only a commission under Chief Justice will be accepted.

Khan also stated that PTI will defeat the supporters of status-quo in the elections of Azad Kashmir.

Meanwhile former PM Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood and PTI leader Jehangir Tareen also addressed the fund raising ceremony.
