Khan demanded that an independent commission led by the Chief Justice be formed

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan addressed the nation on Sunday from Bani Gala and demanded that Prime Minster (PM) Nawaz Sharif should resign as a result of the allegations placed upon in the Panama Leaks, reported Dunya News.

Khan said that the country will head towards destruction if effort is not made at this very moment, adding that God has helped us and that the ‘Umpire’ has raised his finger as well. He said that I want to tell the people of Pakistan through my address that it is our responsibility to save the country. “The people have to protect democracy and their money on their own”, he said, adding that “God has taken suo motu after hearing about the revelations made in the Panama Leaks”.

Khan said that the Icelandic people are doing jihad by hitting the roads against their Prime Minster who was also named in the Panama Leaks. He said that the fate of the nation can be changed on the basis of these revelations, adding that the PM used the public television to defend his family which was alleged in the Leaks and that he mislead the people by lying to them.

PTI Chief stated that he wanted to bring the truth before the people by addressing them via Pakistan Television (PTV), he said that the channel even did not broadcast his speech that he made in the National Assembly (NA). He added that the wife of Iceland’s PM was named in the Panama Leaks but his party told him to resign however Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) members are trying to defend their leader. He mocked PML-N leaders stating that “they have to answer Nawaz Sharif in the hereafter not God”.

Imran Khan said that PM Nawaz’s son Hassan Nawaz owns a house worth Rs 8 billion in the United Kingdom (UK), adding that the children of the Prime Minister are running their companies in Panama only because their father’s post as Nawaz Sharif gives the money earned through corruption to his children who make companies because of it.

“Is there no responsibility placed on NAB (National Accountability Bureau), FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) and other institutions that do accountability (after these revelations)?” Khan inquired. He also said that Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar submitted an affidavit confirming that he did money laundering for PM Nawaz. He said that another individual who did money laundering for the PM is occupying the second-highest rank in the State Bank. He also said that Ishaq Dar’s sons own two towers abroad which are worth 20 billion rupees.

He said that the fate of the country will completely change if corruption gets curbed and the tax collection is increased. He said that Pakistanis abroad send $20 crore back home but the corrupt loot their money and take it abroad. Again referring to Ishaq Dar, Imran Khan added that Dar owns a house which is over $1 crore in worth in Dubai.

Khan demanded that a commission led by Chief Justice(CJ) be formed to probe in the Panama Leaks, adding that experts who are best in dealing with white-collar crimes should be included in the team who investigate the PM’s corruption with the help of an international audit firm.

“We will celebrate Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Foundation Day on April 24 with utmost glory and will devise a strategy to protest at Raiwind as well”, Khan stated, adding “we will not sit at peace until an independent commission is formed”.
