Junaid Jamshed pardons attackers
Junaid Jamshed called for treating each other with mutual respect.
KARACHI (Web Desk) - Former Pakistani popstar-turned-Islamic scholar Junaid Jamshed has forgiven the suspects who attacked him at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
In a message posted on Twitter, Junaid Jamshed announced his decision to forgive the attackers, who accused him of committing blasphemy.
I forgive all my attackers at Ibd airport. I pray that may Allah give us the strength to love n respect each other irrespective .

In a separate message, he called for treating each other with mutual respect.

On March 26, Junaid Jamshed was attacked by an angry mob at Islamabad Airport.
A disturbing video of the attack also surfaced on social media, where a visibly distressed Jamshed is pushed and punched by emotionally charged protestors outside the airport gate, chanting ‘hit him‘.

At one point, Jamshed is chased through the arrivals hall, with some protestors jumping barriers to attack the 51-year-old over remarks made in 2014, for which he had posted an apology nearly on year ago.
Police had identified three men in connection with the attack, and one of them was arrested on Wednesday.
The former singer first shot to fame in 1987, as the lead singer of the pop group Vital Signs, with tracks such as ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ and ‘Tum Mil Gaye’.
In 1994, Jamshed branched out as with his solo singing career, but a decade later, left fame behind and focused on religion. He also owns a clothing line.
