Punjab CM visits Lahore blast's injured, donates blood to victims

CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif donated blood for Lahore blast victims at the Sheikh Zayad Hospital.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister (CM), Shahbaz Sharif, reached Sheikh Zayad Hospital late Sunday night to inquire about the health of victims wounded in the deadly Lahore blast.

The chief minister also donated blood for the injured and termed the incident a great tragedy. Shahbaz Sharif also expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and vowed to provide complete care and treatment to the injured. He further stated that terrorists will not be let off under any circumstance. He said that terrorists behind this barbaric incident and their facilitators will be brought to justice.

Hospital administrations have appealed for more blood donations as emergency was declared in all medical facilities after the attack.  

At least 71 people were killed and over 300 hundred injured, many of them children, when a suicide bomber blew himself up at Lahore’s Gulshan-i-Iqbal park on Sunday evening.

Officials said the bomber had detonated the explosives packed with ball bearings near a children s playing area in the crowded Gulshan-i-Iqbal park.

Emergency was declared in all hospitals of Lahore after the incident while Pakistan army troops reached the scene and took control over the entire park.
