Indian govt provided funds to Altaf by various sources: Tariq Mir
Meeting between MQM leaders and RAW officials used to take place in Rome, Zurich, Vienna and Prague.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – In startling revelations made during Dunya News program “Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath” Thursday, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Tariq Mir’s 8-page confessional statement to the London Metropolitan Police regarding MQM’s links with Indian intelligence agency RAW has been brought to light for the first time.
According to Mir’s confessional statement, Indian government used to provide funds to MQM chief Altaf Hussain through various sources. He stated that the meeting between MQM leaders and Indian intelligence agency RAW’s officials used to take place in different European cities including Rome, Zurich, Vienna and Prague.
The statement reveals that MQM’s funding by the Indian intelligence agency started back in 1994. The party used to receive 800,000 GBP annually at first.
Only 4 leaders of the party including Hussain had the knowledge of RAW’s funding.
It was also revealed that 9 houses were purchased with these initial funds in London.
The statement also highlights that these meetings used to take place according to the will of RAW’s heads.
The confessional statement also reveals that some members of MQM did not want to see slain MQM leader Dr. Imran Farooq in the party.
It was further revealed that after MQM’s inclusion in the government during former President Pervaiz Musharraf’s rule, the Indian officials were notified that further funds will not be needed.
