ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed the Election Commission to hold local government elections in more than eighty union councils (UCs) in eleven districts of Sindh, Dunya News reported.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed heard ECP’s appeal against Sindh High Court’s decision.

The ECP had filed appeal against SHC verdict regarding delimitations of disputed UCs within 24 hours.

During case hearing today, ECP lawyer told the apex court that fresh delimitations of disputed UCs have been carried out on high court’s order and polling will be conducted by December 30.

The court disposed of the ECP’s appeal, terming it ineffective and allowed the commission to hold elections in more than 80 UCs of Sindh.
