PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa on Friday told that the terrorists who attacked Peshawar’s Badaber airbase’s mosque came from and were controlled from Afghanistan, Dunya News reported.

Addressing a media conference, General Bajwa said that the attack was planned in and controlled from Afghanistan. He said the terrorists wanted to go further but were contained by the quick response force within 50 meter.

“The terrorists attacked when personnel were unarmed and praying before God”, he told, adding that the attack on mosque is what caused this many casualties.

DG ISPR said as many as 13-14 terrorists stormed the airbase’s mosque at 5am in the morning and dispersed into two groups there. One group went towards the administrative part while the other to the technical side of the airbase, he told.

General Bajwa said commandos and other security personnel surrounded the terrorists and contained within 50 meter of the infiltration. He told the attack was planned, operated and controlled from Afghanistan.

He told that a faction of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was involved in the attack, adding that intelligence institutions are further investigating it.
