Budget with an outlay of Rs739 billion presented in Sindh Assembly

Salaries of Sindh government employees have been raised by 10%.

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh Finance Minister Murad Ali Shah on Saturday presented provincial budget for next financial year 2015-16 with an total outlay of around 739.3 billion rupees in the Sindh Assembly.

Presenting the budget, Murad Ali Shah announced that total receipts for the next financial year are estimated at Rs727 billion as against budget estimate of Rs672 billion for current financial year showing an overall increase of 8.2%.

The budget shows an overall increase of 7.7 per cent as against the budget estimate of Rs686 billion for current financial year.

Current revenue expenditure of the province is estimated at Rs503.34 billion against budget estimate of Rs436.09 billion for current financial year indicating increase of 15.4 percent

The development expenditure of the province is estimated at Rs213.6 billion which includes provincial Annual Development Program of Rs177 billion.

Ten percent Adhoc Relief Allowance on running basic pay has also been announced for all the employees of Sindh government with effect from 1st July 2015.

Budget allocated for education sector has been increased by 7.6% to Rs144 billion while education development budget is Rs10 billion and an amount of Rs3.94 has been earmarked for medical education.

The finance minister announced that budget for health sector has been increased by 32% this year. A total of Rs57 billion will be spent on health sector.

The provincial government has allocated Rs63.5 billion for law and order.
