Scientists congratulate GC University on establishing nanochemistry lab
Scientists say nanochemistry can revolutionize Pakistan's industrial sector
LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – Lahore’s Government College (GC) University has opened Punjab’s first nanochemistry laboratory and has also acquired two patents in United States in the relevant fields hoping it could revolutionize industrial sector in Pakistan.
Congratulating GCU, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) scientist Professor Dr. N.M. Butt said that the nanochemistry technology has been widely ignored in Pakistan even though it can revolutionize industries in Sialkot and Faisalabad.
The only other nanochemistry lab Pakistan has is in Karachi. The one by GC is Punjab’s first and most modern. University’s Vice Chancellor Dr M Khaliqur Rehman said that GCU has not only established the nanochemistry lab but has also acquired two patents in the US which he hoped would benefit country’s industry.
Talking on the occasion, Director of the newly established lab Dr Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh said that the first nano science workshop will be held in July so that the research in nanochemistry field could be promoted.
