Mid-term polls to harm country: Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Tuesday said that mid-term elections would be against countrys interests, and said that the mandate given by the nation be respected. Talking to media in Multan, Qureshi said that holding of polls on stipulated times would help boost democracy in the country. Referring to the fake degrees, he said that had the returning officer examined the degrees earlier, many problems would have been averted. Qureshi said that Pakistan would endorse the talks with Taliban by the Afghan government. He said that the government sought the early resolution of Kashmir issue. He said that both India and Pakistan believed that only a joint strategy would help combat the menace of terrorism.
